St Wolfgang im Salzkammergut is a picturesque town of just under 3000 inhabitants situated at the Wolfgangsee Lake in a dramatic scenery at the foot of the Austrian Alps. The history of St Wolfgang dates back to the end of 10th century. Like the majority of places situated in the Salzkammergut (i.e. the “Salt Chamber”), the fame of St Wolfgang originates in salt mining. nWe recommend to allow ideally 1 or 2 days to soak in the atmosphere of the location and its surroundings.
